I had the privilege of being in Lawson's Easy Does It Golf League for several years. I recall his jocular personality, his generous compassion and his competitive spirit.

Lawson was my neighbor in Glenmont. He was always so friendly and helpful. He showed me the golf clubs he made and even "helped" me make one for myself, using his experience to do 90% of the work. And he was fit! I recall when I was mounting a basketball backboard to a pole on the court in my backyard. The hoop was fairly heavy so I asked him to grab a side and help lift it. He took hold and lifted it up - and nearly lifted me with it. I missed Lawson and Marcia when they moved on.

Dear Marcia and Family,
I remember Lawson with great fondness from my days working at the Attorney General’s office. My desk was right outside his office, so we became good friends. Whenever he saw me eating a toasted, buttered, hard roll as he walked by my desk, he would mutter just loud enough for me to hear, “empty calories.” Of course he was right. I admired him greatly. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss.
